Born in Australia with Singaporean roots, Boon provides specialist tax advice to our clients in relation to establishment of corporate structures in Singapore and in-bound/out-bound taxation matters for individuals including expatriate employee and founders of companies entering Singapore.
Boon is an Australian Chartered Accountant and Tax Advisor who joined CST in 2012 and was appointed a Principal of the Sydney practice in 2013. During this time, Boon assisted clients with Australian taxation matters associated with tax residency, capital gains tax and advice on in-bound and out-bound taxation matters for expatriates.
The Move to Singapore
In 2015, he moved to Singapore with his wife and son to become the Managing Director of our Singapore firm.
Boon regularly appears on radio segments where he provides international tax advice to expats living in Singapore. He writes featured articles in international tax journals and is a speaker at various international tax focused events.
Boon holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales and a Masters of Commerce degree from Macquarie University.
He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Taxation Institute of Australia (Chartered Tax Advisor) and the Sydney Chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Prior to joining our firm, Boon spent 12 years working for both boutique and international accounting firms. During this time his focus was on managing family groups and Australian accounting and tax compliance for foreign subsidiaries. He played a virtual CFO function with experience in the retail fashion, financial services, cosmetics, real estate and IT industries.
